INTERNATIONAL MARCONI DAY 2018
The Marconi Radio Electric Experimental
Centre (CReSM) in collaboration with the Civitavecchia section of
ARI (Italian Radio Amateur Association), participated this year at the
International Marconi Day, together with the Italian and international
commemorative stations. Among the commemorative sites, which made
transmissions, setting up radio stations, there was also Torre Chiaruccia (Chiaruccia Tower in Santa Marinella, ROME -
Italy) where from 1928 to 1937 Marconi, first in the world, conducted
researches and experiments on MICROWAVES, MOBILE PHONES, RADAR and TV. The Marconi site of Torre Chiaruccia
(JN52WA), has got an extraordinary historical and scientific importance, and it
is celebrated since 1989 by the A.R.I. Section of Civitavecchia, with the
special name IY0TC, on the occasion of the International Marconi Day. From 1st
January 2018, thanks to the agreement between the CReSM and the Italian Air
Force, the radio station was set up inside the area of Torre Chiaruccia, sponsored
by JVC-KENWOOD, with three transceivers of the TS class: TS2000, TS590S and the
top of the range TS990S.
